I recently spent 3 nights and 4 days on my mother’s farm. Her and her partner are continuing to build a self-sufficient way of life. I am so grateful for the exposure to planting seeds, herbs, plants and trees. I am so grateful for the opportunity to milk their cow and from this milk, make yoghurt, butter and consume its cream. I am so grateful for the home cooked meals that only included produce directly off the land. It was incredible for me to be able to connect with and care for the animals on the property, from baby ducks and turkeys, cows, a horse, pigs and chickens. The experience brought me out of my head and into my heart. The time allowed me to heal some more; unwind and listen to my heart again. Being able to sit quietly amidst nature didn’t invite “thought”, but rather inner peace and fulfillment. There is absolute magic being resourceful with nature. Taking only what you need. There is no room to indulge “wants”. Putting love into everything you consume well in advance. It provides you with such deep feelings of gratification and connection to life: Your breath. Your heart. Love.
